Samsung MU6300 Review

The Samsung MU6300 is not your typical 4K Smart LED TV. While it is not extravagant, the Smart TV can provide you with a decent picture quality along with a set of great features. You will love it if you’re a gamer because it has a nice input lag than the average TV models out there have.  But in the following, let us check out more about this TV and find out if it is worth your second look.

Design 6.8

It has a good design quite similar as to other TVs, so it won’t turn your head. However, it has a pretty nice support with borders of average thickness. Overall, its design and build quality is almost the same as that of other competing brands. Its thickest portion is near the bottom. We can find it good because that won’t stick out very much if you’re wall mounting the TV.

Viewing angle 5.0

At an angle, black can turn into grey and the colors can shift along with the brightness decreasing fast. Those watching to the side will have to seat in front for a good viewing angle.

Smart Features 8.5

Without leaving the home menu, most of these features are easily accessible. So for the interface, the Samsung TV fares well. We also love the voice commands that let you do different tasks, such as searching for content and adjusting the settings without navigating with the interface of the TV.

Stand 8.0

The Samsung MU6300 is made with a V shaped center stand, obvious in the brand’s signature TVs. The stand is stable, although it wobbles quite a bit.

Wall mount 9.0

Its wall mount is all-plastic with inputs accessible from its side. You will love it if you’re installing the TV on the wall. This feature is quite good because it makes it easy to access the controls.

Picture Quality 7.5

This TV model has a better than the average picture quality, and it’s amazing.  You can find pleasure in the great contrast ratio and black uniformity, displaying even dark scenes vividly especially if you’re setting up the Samsung MU6300 in a dark bedroom.

However, it might not be able to fare well in a brighter living room because the picture isn’t that bright to resist the glare coming from sunny windows or bright lights.

Contrast 9.1

This smart TV has an amazing contrast ratio of 5768:1 enabling it to producing deep blacks. You will love it when placed in a dark room for the full vivid details it can show. On the other hand, the Samsung MU6300 comes with an amazing SDR peak brightness, allowing it to produce enough brightness even in a bright room.

HDR Peak Brightness 6.5

Regarding HDR peak brightness, it fares quite well but nothing stellar. The highlights won’t be able to reach close to the 1000-4000 cd/m² that it is supposed to get at. As it does not have a lot of local dimming, the shown highlights will also be dimmed altogether with the scene.

Gray uniformity 6.5

This aspect is average. On the screen’s center, there are noticeable vertical bands that produce dirty scene effect if you’re watching sports.  The right and left sides can also be darker than the other portions of the screen.

Verdict

The Samsung MU6300 is a decent choice. It may even be smarter than any other TVs out there. However, Samsung might want to look at updating some a few aspects of the TV to make it really a great one to pick.
