LG E8PUA Series OLED65E8PUA 2018 Review

OLED TV is making buzz in the entertainment industry. One of the brands that offer such is LG. Hence, it has introduced LG E8PUA series (OLED65E8PUA). The brand is proud that this model is one of the best OLED TV, and the best one that can nearly achieve the brightness of what LCD TV can deliver.

LG had already produced OLED TVs before but the E8PUA Series is said to beat its predecessors, making it better and even the best among them. However, there may be some features that its predecessor has, but this model does not have.

The model is 65 inches with majority of its rear thin and a transparent desktop stand, making it aesthetically good.

This model may have paid attention more on its design. Also, the sound is clean, but there is a bit of a problem. The LG E8PAU Series has no soundbar attached to it unlike the last model.

Even with a narrow speaker band, it still has no sufficient breathing space or raw power to produce the same dynamic range, sound stage scale and volumes like its predecessor.

Because this model is with an OLED screen, the pixels are given a light that results to an extraordinary deep and rich black color. You will not have to worry about low-contrast grayness.

The richness of the color black gives off a punch for the colors across the SDR spectrum. Just do not expect that you will have the same brightness level that LCD TV’s can achieve.

But for OLED TV, this model can give you a good brightness level and one of the nearest things that can achieve the LCD’s brightness level. Aside from this aspect, this model also has Alpha 9 processor for upgraded motion performance. If you are a game enthusiast, you will be happy to know that it can support 120fps gaming for HD resolutions.

You will not also be suffering from dimmed picture when running in its low-latency HDR Gamer mode. This model can also support Dolby Vision, although some users experience random appearance of little raised black levels in the course of dark scenes.

Final Thoughts

LG E8PUA Series is equivalent to an outstanding OLED TV, just do not expect a brightness level like LCD TV. There is no question on how the quality of the pictures and videos because of the richness of the colors it delivers. Hence, HD SDR sources deliver detailed-looking 3D pictures for you to watch.

If you are satisfied with its quality pictures and videos, and do not pay much attention on the sound, then, this is for you. It may have surpassed its predecessor’s features when it comes to pictures, but for sound, it has not.

So, you better have to choose which one do you prioritize more, and which one will give you more satisfaction, is it the quality of the picture or the quality of sound?
