Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Review

Microsoft has always been doing things differently evident in its Surface Pro.   It always comes up with an idea on how to make computers better. In fact, many tech review sites have called its Windows 10 the best ever OS on the planet.

Improvements 9/10

While the Surface Pro looks somehow similar to the earlier version in almost every way, it has improved in many ways.   One of the most remarkable features it has is its improved battery life, which is something you will love. It just means the Pro will last longer with a single full charge.  The Pro 5 offers almost a similar frame like the earlier version that you’re used to if you happen to own the Pro 4.

Regarding tech specifications, the product offers 512GB SSD, storage capacity; 16GB LPDDR3, RAM; and 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7-7660U, CPU, among other features.

Thickness and Weight 9/10

The latest version has the same thickness and weight, 0.33 inches and 1.73 pounds, respectively. These two remain unchanged, and   they’re still the same lightweight and small Surface Pro you’d love to use. But despite its small size, Microsoft is able to pack a battery of about 20% larger. In addition, Microsoft is able to add in an improved thermal design, letting it create the Intel Core i5 version and the Core m3 version, both operating fanless.

Design 8.5/10

As said earlier, the Pro 5 looks like its predecessor, but it is noticeably more gorgeous with the improvements it has. However, it has kept the touch screen size of 12.3-inch Pixel Sense, which also has the pixel resolution 2,736 x 1,824.

On the other hand, you could notice the major differences in its frame.  Now, it has a rounded at the edges are an aluminum alloy frame, making it look more dramatic than ever.

The hinge is another improvement.  It has taken inspiration from the Surface Studio. With the Pro 5, the hinge now has the ability of bending back better than before. It can now be put into the Studio Mode, allowing users to make use of a narrow angle of 165 degrees.

So to the touch, you will notice the big difference in the improved design of the Surface Pro 5.  Using it, you will notice that the hinge is different, allowing you to use dramatic angles, although keeping the same operation as before.

Cover and Keys 9/10

This version includes the Alcantara cover, which is a great improvement when it comes to comfort versus the previous version.     However, the improved cover also makes this product slightly pricier than its predecessor is.

In addition, the keys come at a deeper set, coming back with more force from a press.  The materials the keys are made of appear to be durable to last longer.

Final Thoughts

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is a decent choice for those who are looking for a sleek, small and powerful PC with a great operating system. Even at a higher price point, it still makes a good investment because it is made of high quality materials and excellent technical specifications. Check out the Pro 5 today!
