Spotify Review 2018

Pricing 9/10

Premium and paid plans are available for Spotify, and many users are more likely to use the paid subscription, letting you access millions of tracks in its music library on your laptop, phone or tablet.  If you’re looking to play music offline, you can also do it and download songs to up to three devices.

There is also a family account available if you have a large family, and it can save you money in the process.  The family account lets up to six people connect to the music streaming service at the same time. For a standard account though, your music playing will be bumped off when someone else would be trying to play music on his or her device.

Using the free account though, you will still have to deal with the restrictions.  With it, you cannot freely skip songs in your playlists, and there will be ads, which help in paying the royalties to the artist.

Catalogue 9/10

In the past, music streaming services would have to fight for exclusive albums and library size, but this has died down because it won’t be useful for the end users. Spotify, as one of its improved features, has skipped and stepped out of the track counting. Today, it just claims more than 30 million tracks/songs.

There are also Spotify Singles available. These are live session recordings, and they are the exclusives.

Platforms 8/10

The service works in most operating systems, including iOS, Android and Windows phones.   If you’re going to use a desktop or a laptop, it is also available, supporting Windows and OS X.   You can also use Spotify on its web interface, letting you connect any gadget using a browser. But generally, a majority of users is using their phones for music streaming.

Interface 8/10

It is a black interface, which looks good overall. Here, you will also find playlist artwork and album covers. On the other hand, some users choose to use the app like a cloud-based player, wherein they can create and add playlists and albums to their “Your Music” area.

Spotify has an easy to use interface, letting you be on board with its generated playlists that it does by checking on the tracks you have listened to, and then fills a playlists with the songs that  it thinks you love.

Final Thoughts

Spotify, no doubt, is the best music streaming service on the planet. It offers millions of tracks, the ability to customize your listening experience and an easy to use interface.  If you’re a music lover who wants to take your tracks with you anywhere, you might want to consider subscribing to the paid plan available to unlock the full features of the service.
